Gold is measured in troy ounces. One troy ounce equals 1.097 ordinary ounces. The specific gravity
of gold is 19.3, meaning gold weights 19.3 times more than an equal volume of water.
On the Karat system 24 karat = 100%, 22 karat = 91.7%, 18 karat = 75.0%, 14 karat = 58.5% and 10 karat = 41.6% gold.
Where does gold get its power? All power comes from God. Psalm 62:11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this;
that power belongeth unto God.
Where does gold get its value? It comes from God. In the book of Genesis God said that gold was very good. Genesis 1:31,
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.
The time line above shows that gold is indeed to be considered durable riches. We see how it has passed the test of time
and how it is handed forward generation to generation.
We also see how it is apart of God’s purpose in migrating people to new lands and places in the earth.
We see how it is God’s will for the entire earth to have His gold by it being all over the earth. Most of the earth
has gotten out of His will in how it is used.
We see how He has used gold in the advancement of technology in many areas so His gospel can be preached around the world.
We see how He has allowed gold to be used in the exploration of His universe.
We also see the power of gold in financial control of the world. Nations or individuals owning gold are wealthy. Nations
and individuals have a history of going to war to get gold and winning wars with gold. We see nation’s debt being paid
off with gold.
We see King Ferdinand stating, "Get gold at all hazards." God says to seek his wisdom more that fine gold because it is
the principle thing and in all thy getting, get understanding. (Proverbs 4:7)
Man must have understanding of the power of gold and how to use it in line with God’s will or it will destroy him.
I have said it before, but I say it again, "If you take the "L" out of gold it becomes you god." The "L" stands for love.
I am not talking about loving gold. I am talking about using gold in love.
God is not against man desiring to have gold, nor is He against man seeking gold. He is against man desiring gold more
than Him, and seeking gold before seeking Him. God grants man the desires of His heart. When man desires gold in a godly manner
He will have plenty of it.
Look at Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Job, David, Solomon and yes, Jesus. They all sought the Lord and they were all rich in gold
and other durable riches. Jesus became rich as a young child. The wise men brought caravans of durable riches to Him and worshiped
Him. Mary had the greatest baby shower of all time. Jesus was continually giving to the poor out of his treasury.
Study the lives of these men and find out how God wants His durable riches handled in the earth. God desires for you to
have His riches just as much as He did these men of old. God needs you to have His riches even more so than the men of old.
We are the generation that was to come in Psalms 102:18, This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people
which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
We are the generation that is created to praise the Lord and preach His gospel.
It is God that gives us the power to get wealth according to Deuteronomy 8:18 and to retain wealth according to Ecclesiastes
5:19.
The purpose of God giving us riches is to keep His word to Abraham saying, In thee shall all the families of the earth
be blessed. The gentiles shall see our glory and say this is the seed that the Lord has blessed. This is His covenant with
Abraham.
Deuteronomy 8:18, But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to
get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
Ecclesiastes 5:19, Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and
to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.
We are to remember that we can receive nothing except it be given us by God. We are not to be high minded or trust in uncertain
riches, but in God who gives us richly all things to enjoy.
John 3:27, John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
1Timothy 6:17, Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but
in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy.
